After two years of preparations, building, and rumination, it was time to launch our canoe. Woohoo!

I was a little hesitant to put it into the water. I didn't know if it would float, for one thing.

But it floated. Alison let me take the first ride, because she loves me, and she's a lifeguard.

Pretty quickly, it was her turn.

She cruised around the lake with a big smile on her face.

But alas, it was very cold (about 50 degrees), so we were ready to pack it up and head back inside.
